Art journal #9 Strong Women

Another inspiring quote and I could not help but put it in my art journal. Gave a pistachio green like background using water colors and then used the vineyard stencil from Crafter’s Workshop® and Tim Holtz® Distress ink (Mowed Lawn) to frame the layout. Drew  two wine glasses on a separate piece of paper, cut it out and stuck it on to the page. Then applied a coat of Mod Podge to seal the background.

Stamped Prima Marketing® Finnabair Clear Stamp‑crackle along the border of the two pages. It looked a little too messy and I ended up water coloring it with grayish back paint and redid the cracks using white gel pen.

Finally used the Tim Holtz® stamp for the large letters and Avery Elle® Alphas Clear Stamps for the small letters.  I used an Inkadinkado® clear stamp for the curvy design at the end of the quote and used modeling paste and the same vineyard stencil to give some dimension to the image as though some of the leaves were jutting out of the paper.  Also drew the tiny leafy doodle using white gel pen throughout the layout to bring it all together.

Here is a look of the finished layout.

The border stamp gave this layout a complete look and I totally enjoyed the whole process. Hope you guys liked it too! This goes as an entry to Simon says stamp Wednesday Challenge – Make for the Border and   Simon says stamp Monday Challenge – Summer Fun

Good day! 🙂
