This is one crazy page which I started off without any plan in mind. I had no clue of the theme, color scheme or even the quote I would use. I began by sticking tiny squares of pattern paper in a alternate, step-like pattern. The squares in between were painted yellow and the rest of the page blue with acrylic paints.
The yellow squares looked plain and ended up using the stamps from ‘American Crafts – Amy Tan Finders Keepers stamp set’ to fill the space. The solid ‘cross’ pattern stamp was used to create the border on the bottom left side of the page. Rest of the page took its final form when I pulled out the white gel ink pen. Drew white borders and a stitched pattern along the pattern paper squares. Also drew a white border along the left bottom potion of the layout border.
I used the ‘ornate flourish’ clear stamp from Inkadinkado® and redrew over it with white gel ink pen. Also used some modeling paste from Faber Castell® and stenciled the white cross pattern in random places throughout the page. The stencil used is TCW 539 – Patterns from The Crafters Workshop®.
Wrote ‘Carpe Diem’ in cursive writing using blue felt pen and again gave it a white outline using gel pen.
So my message for the day is ‘Carpe Diem’ – Seize the day! make the most of today, do what your heart desires and stop worrying about tomorrow.
