I have watched various crafters do the smooshing technique and it looked rather easy. I put some distress ink on a spare piece of acetate, sprayed it with water and smooshed the colors around over and over again while drying layers in between. It did feel like I overdid some parts and have to start all over on a new card stock – but no. On drying, the colors become less intense also toning down the screwed up areas. Trick is to keep going, letting it dry before adding more color and knowing when to stop. If you are someone who has never tried it before, I suggest you give it a shot!
Supplies used:
1. 65lb Recollections® White Card stock paper
2. Clear stamps from Tim Holtz® Blue print collection
3. Tim Holtz® Distress inks – Mermaid Lagoon, Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn, Seedless Preserve (for the smooshy background)
4. My Favorite Things® – BASIC STITCH LINES – Die-namics Die Set
5. Faber Castell® – Tri-Colour Pencils
6. White pigment Ink pen (UM-153) from Uniball®
